For percutaneous pinning of the reducible intracapsular femoral neck fractures. Percutaneous pinning reduces the possibility of mortality, morbidity, and infection. The threads engage the cancellous and subchondral bone of the femoral head. When a distal nut is used, compression can be achieved between the fragments as the pin employs the lag screw principle. The distal portion of the pin is broken off at the scored line. These pins are not recommended for comminuted fractures.
