Description
The V. Mueller NL4253‑92T Kerrison Rongeur is a precision spinal surgical instrument designed for fine, controlled removal of bone and ligament during decompression procedures.
This instrument features a long, slender shaft (~9 1/2 inches) with a Kerrison-style footplate jaw and 2 mm bite size, making it ideal for highly delicate work in confined spinal spaces. The smaller gauge allows for incremental bone removal and excellent control near sensitive structures such as nerve roots.
The footplate design enables insertion beneath bone or ligament, while the upper cutting punch removes material with precision. The pistol-grip, spring-loaded handle allows smooth, one-handed operation and enhanced tactile feedback.
The gold-colored components indicate tungsten carbide (TC) inserts, providing superior cutting durability and edge retention. Constructed from surgical-grade stainless steel, the instrument is suitable for repeated sterilization and long-term use.
