V. Mueller Kerrison Rongeur (5 mm)

Additional Info

  • Unit of Measurement: Each
  • Catalog Number: NL4253-95T

Description

The V. Mueller NL4253‑95T Kerrison Rongeur is a precision spinal surgical instrument designed for controlled removal of bone and ligament during decompression procedures.

This instrument features a long, slender shaft (~9 1/2 inches) terminating in a footplate-style biting jaw with a 5 mm gauge, allowing for more aggressive bone removal compared to smaller gauge versions.

The Kerrison footplate design enables the instrument to slide beneath bone or ligament, while the upper cutting jaw performs a controlled punching action. The pistol-grip, spring-loaded handle provides smooth, ergonomic, one-handed operation and precise control.

The gold-colored components indicate tungsten carbide (TC) inserts, which enhance durability, edge retention, and cutting efficiency. The extended shaft length and narrow profile make this instrument ideal for deep spinal procedures such as laminectomy and decompression.

Constructed from surgical-grade stainless steel, the instrument is durable and designed for repeated sterilization.
